This page sets out the terms and conditions on which we supply any products (“Products”) listed on torontopaperlanterns.com (“our site”) to you. Please read these terms carefully before placing an order.
By placing an order on our site, you agree to be bound by:
- these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”),
- our Privacy Policy,
- our Return Policy (if posted separately), and
- any Safety Instructions provided with the Products.
If you do not accept these Terms, you will not be able to complete your purchase.

Email: sales@torontopaperlanterns.com
Phone: 1-647-955-8129
2. Your Status
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old to place an order through our site.
2.2 If you are under 18, you may only place an order with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
3. How the Contract Is Formed
3.1 When you place an order, you will receive an email acknowledging that we have received your order (“Order Acknowledgement”). This does not mean your order has been accepted.
3.2 Your order is an offer to purchase Products from us. We may choose not to accept an order for reasons including (without limitation) stock availability, pricing errors, suspected fraud, address issues, or shipping limitations.
3.3 We will confirm acceptance of your order by sending you a Shipping Confirmation email when your order has shipped (meaning it has left our facility and has been handed to the carrier). A contract between you and us
(“Contract”) is formed when we send the Shipping Confirmation.
3.4 The Contract relates only to the Products confirmed in the Shipping Confirmation. We are not obliged to supply any other Products that may have been part of your order until those Products are shipped and confirmed separately.
4. Product Availability and Shipping
4.1 Shipping timeline. We aim to ship in-stock orders within 1–2 business days of receiving payment and confirming your order details. Shipping timelines may vary during peak periods, holidays, or service disruptions.
4.2 If a Product becomes unavailable after you place an order, we may cancel that Product (or the full order where necessary) and refund the applicable amount.
5. Delivery and Shipping Limitations
5.1 Shipping within Canada only. We ship to Canadian delivery addresses only. We do not currently ship internationally. If an order is placed with a delivery address outside Canada, we may cancel the order and issue a refund.
5.2 Carrier. Shipping is normally made through Canada Post or another carrier we select.
5.3 Delivery times. Delivery times are estimates provided by the carrier and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to weather, holidays, service disruptions, or other events outside our control. Please order with enough time for your
event to avoid disappointment.
5.4 Address accuracy. You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. We are not responsible for delays, non-delivery, or additional costs caused by incorrect or incomplete address information.
5.5 Delivery completion and risk. Products are at your risk from the time delivery is completed to your provided address (or when the carrier indicates the shipment is available for pickup, where applicable).
5.6 Ownership. Ownership of the Products passes to you when we receive full payment of all amounts due, including any applicable delivery charges.
6. Colour Representation and Product Images
6.1 We make reasonable efforts to display Products and colours accurately on our site. However, the colour you see on screen may differ from the actual product colour due to device/monitor settings, screen brightness and contrast, browser settings, and photography/lighting.
6.2 No exact colour match. Customers should not expect an exact colour match between on-screen images and delivered Products. A perceived colour difference alone does not mean the Product is defective.
6.3 Images on our site are for illustration purposes. Product appearance may vary slightly from images shown.
6.4 If colour matching is critical, we recommend ordering one unit first to confirm suitability before placing a larger order.
7. Safety
7.1 Our Products are safe when used properly and in accordance with any Safety Instructions included with the Products.
7.2 Paper lantern safety. Paper lanterns are not toys and should not be used by children without adult supervision. Keep paper products away from open flames, candles, incense, high-heat bulbs, heat sources, and flammable materials.
7.3 Lighting recommendation. Use battery-operated lights or low-heat LED lights designed for lantern use. Do not use candles, open flames, incandescent bulbs, or halogen bulbs in or near paper lanterns.
7.4 If a Product is damaged or defective in any way, do not use it. Contact us immediately at
sales@torontopaperlanterns.com or
1-647-955-8129.
8. Pricing and Payment
8.1 Prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD).
8.2 Taxes. Prices are tax-inclusive where required/indicated; otherwise, applicable taxes (including GST/HST and provincial taxes such as PST/QST where applicable) are calculated and shown in the cart and at checkout based on your shipping address.
8.3 Delivery costs are not included in Product prices and will be added at checkout.
8.4 Prices may change at any time, but changes will not affect orders for which we have already sent a Shipping Confirmation.
8.5 Pricing errors. While we make every effort to ensure accurate pricing, errors may occur. If we discover an error, we may contact you for instructions or cancel the affected item(s) and refund the applicable amount, to the extent permitted by applicable consumer protection law.
8.6 Payment must be made using the payment methods offered at checkout at the time of purchase.
9. Returns
9.1 All sales are final. By their nature, paper lanterns are delicate decorative items that cannot be resold once handled, and products that contain or require batteries are non-returnable regardless of condition. All products — paper lanterns, LED lights, and remote-control sets — are final sale once shipped or made available for pickup.
9.2 We do not accept returns or issue refunds for reasons of preference, change of mind, colour matching, or any other aesthetic reason.
9.3 Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
10. Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Items
10.1 Defective or damaged Products. If you receive a Product that is defective or damaged:
- do not use it;

10.2 Wrong items sent. If we send the wrong Product, wrong colour, or wrong quantity:
- contact us within 48 hours of delivery or pickup;
- we will provide return instructions including a prepaid label where appropriate; and

11. Refunds
11.1 Defects, damage, or our errors. For confirmed defective or damaged items or our errors, we will process refunds within 2 business days of confirming the issue. Refunds cover the full applicable amount including shipping where applicable, or we will provide a replacement as appropriate.
11.2 Timing to appear. Refunds may take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement depending on your bank or payment provider.
11.3 Refunds will be processed using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise required by law.
12. Privacy and Data Protection
12.1 We take your privacy seriously. Please see our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information.
12.2 We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share information with service providers (such as shipping carriers and payment processors) only as necessary to fulfill your order
and operate our services.
12.3 Our site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content.
13. User Content (Reviews, Photos, Submissions)
13.1 If you post, submit, or upload reviews, photos, or other content to our site (or send content to us for publication), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, display, and adapt that content for marketing and promotional purposes, in any media.
13.2 You confirm you have the rights to grant this license and have permission from any individuals appearing in the content.
13.3 We may remove or refuse content at our discretion.
14. Our Liability
14.1 We warrant that Products purchased from us are of acceptable quality and reasonably fit for the purposes for which such products are commonly used, subject to applicable legal warranties.
14.2 To the extent permitted by law, our liability for losses you suffer as a result of us breaching this Contract is limited to the purchase price of the affected Product(s) (and any reasonably foreseeable losses directly resulting from the breach).
14.3 We are not responsible for indirect losses that are not reasonably foreseeable by both you and us at the time of purchase.
14.4 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence,
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or
- any matter for which it would be illegal to exclude or limit liability.
14.5 You are responsible for using Products safely and in accordance with Safety Instructions. We are not liable for damage or injury resulting from misuse, negligence, or failure to follow instructions.
15. Events Outside Our Control (Force Majeure)
15.1 We are not liable for delays or failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including (without limitation) severe weather, service disruptions, strikes, supplier delays, government actions, power outages, or internet failures.
15.2 If such an event occurs, our performance is suspended for the duration of the event, and we will use reasonable efforts to minimize the impact and keep you informed.
16. Communications and Notices
16.1 By using our site, you agree that communication with us will primarily be electronic. We may contact you by email or by posting notices on our site.
16.2 Copy of agreement. After you place your order, we will email you your order details and a link to a versioned copy of these Terms (the internet agreement) that you can save and print for your records.

17. General Terms
17.1 You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations under a Contract without our prior written consent. We may transfer or assign our rights or obligations at any time. If we do so, we will notify you, and you may cancel the Contract if you do not wish to continue with the new party, to the extent permitted by law.
17.2 If we do not enforce any right or provision of these Terms at any time, this does not mean we waive that right or provision.
17.3 If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be removed, but the remaining provisions will remain valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
17.4 We may revise these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you place your order will govern that purchase.
17.5 Consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws. If any part of these Terms conflicts with those laws, those laws will apply to the extent of the conflict.
18. Dispute Resolution
18.1 If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first. We will work with you in good faith to resolve issues.
18.2 If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you may pursue resolution through appropriate avenues such as mediation, arbitration, or small claims court, as applicable.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
19.1 These Terms and any Contract between you and us are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws applicable therein.
